    At Summit Strength Training, we empower athletes of all levels to reach their full potential through Olympic weightlifting and targeted strength programs. We believe that building strength, speed, and total-body control is the foundation for success in any sport.

    Introduction to Olympic Weightlifting / Weight Training

      

    Designed specifically for beginners, this two-month program teaches fundamental lifting techniques and builds a strong base for continued progress in athletic performance.


        

    Program Includes:


    ✅ Professional instruction in Olympic lifts and strength movements

    ✅ Warm-ups, mobility, and technique work

    ✅ Small-group training environment

    ✅ Two-month facility access

    ✅ Liability coverage and coaching honorarium


     Cost: $245 for two months


    Location: Power Plus Gym, Edmonton

    Training Times for Program

    Weight training for beginners  in this program during the following times:


    • Tuesday    5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
    • Thursday   5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
    • Saturday    Noon - 4:00 p.m.


    Training sessions are usually 90 minutes long, including a warm-up. 



    Drop-in Times

    Drop-in training is available during the following times during the week:


    • Monday         9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday    9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Saturday        2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

     



    Coaching Facilitator

      Michael Mountford is a provincial Olympic weightlifting coach, and his past coaching assignments include the Junior Canada Cup, the Canada Games, and the Western Canada Games. Michael has previously coached community clubs in Fort Saskatchewan, Mill Woods, and Athabasca.

    Michael has over 30 years of coaching experience for weight trainingMichael is a Level Il certified coach under the National Coaching Certification Program, plus a Coaching Facilitator for the new NCCP program for weightlifing.
